President Martti Ahtisaari
Former President of Finland
2008 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate

President Ahtisaari, a Finnish national, made a distinguished career with the United Nations and the Finnish Foreign Ministry. He was elected President of the Republic of Finland in 1994 and he held the position until the end of February 2000. President Ahtisaari has since taken several international tasks to continue his career in international peacemediation and conflict resolution. His tasks are being assisted by the Crisis Management Initiative, a Non-Governmental Organisation that President Ahtisaari founded in 2000 in which he acts as the Chairman of the Board. Today, President Ahtisaari is active in numerous non-governmental and nonprofit organisations.

  Mr Paul J Crutzen
1995 Nobel Prize for
Chemistry Laureate

Mr Paul J Crutzen, a Dutch national, is best known for his research on ozone depletion. He lists his main research interests as stratospheric and tropospheric chemistry, and their role in the biogeochemical cycles and climate. He currently works at the Department of Atmospheric Chemistry at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry, in Mainz, Germany. He was part-time professor at the University of California in San Diego and at the University of Chicago.
